Our Forefather:

 

Maharaja Naba Krishna left behind two sons, one adopted Raja Gopimohan Deb (adopted in 1768) and other his own begetting Raja Raj krishna Deb.



Raja Gopimohan Deb (1763-1837) :

 

He was a good scholar in Parsi. He was founder director of Hindu Collage and founder of famous “Dharma Sabha:. He offered many precious Jewellery of gold and silver to Maa Kali of Kalighat.

Raja Rajkrishna Deb (1782-1823) :

 

A very well known Scholar in Hindi, Parsi and English. He had eight sons namely Shiv Krishna, Kali Krishna, Debi Krishna, Apurba Krishna, Kamal Krishna, Madhab Krishna, Narendra Krishna Deb,   He gifted a land of three mile to construct Barrackpure Trunk Road and also contributed for gigging of hundred pounds and one swage toward
the benefit of common men.

Raja Sir Radhakanta Deb Bahadur (1784-1867) :

 

A great scholar in Aarbi, Parsi, Sanskrit and Bengali. He studied in Calcutta Academy to learn English. The only dictionary come Encyclopedia in Sanskrit named (Shabdakalpadrum) was his literwase   creation. He established a Sanskrit College at Sovabazar in 1857. In 1824 he was conferred with Raja Bahadur title by Governor General Lord Aukland. In 1837. He was very much instrumental forwards the progress of female education.

Raja Shivkrishna Deb (1804-1866) :

 

He was the eldest son of Raja Raj Krishna Deb who was born in the year 1804 and died on 10th October 1866. There is a very little information recorded about Raja Shiv Krishna Deb

Raja Kalikrishna Deb (1808-1874) :

 

A great scholar in Sanskrit and English. He was fellow of Calcutta University, Justice of Reace and so many important and dignified posts. He was given the Title RAJA BAHADUR in 1833 by William Bentinck. He was born in 1808 and died at Varanasi on 11th April 1874 at the age of 66 years. A sculpture off his idol is there at Rabindra Kanan, Calcutta. (Biddon Square Park).

Raja Debi Krishna Deb (1812-1872) :

 

A good scholar and fond of alsome. He was instrumental to popularize the play of Michal Madhusudan Dutta, like (Krishna Kumari). He died on 15th April 1872.

Raja Apurba Krishna Deb (1815-1867) :

 

A good Scholar in Parsi and was conferred with title Raj Kavi. He received the title Knight. He left 2 children Kumar krishna & Upendra Krishna

Raja Kamal Krishna Deb (1820-1885) :

 

He was an eminent scholar and member of Viceroy Council. His contribution to the society for construction of Mayo Hospital, Oriental School is note worthy.

Raja Madhab Krishna Deb  (1816-1839) :

 

He was born in the year 1816 and died on 5th June 1839

Raja Narendra Krishna Deb (1822-1903) :

 

He was member of Victory Council, fellow of Calcutta University and commissioner of Calcutta. Being a strong music lover he established “Bharatiya Sangeet Samaaj”. He joint in the post of Deputy Magistrate and contributed  a lot for the society.
